The University of Customs and Finance (hereinafter - the University) is a state owned Higher Education Institution. The University was established pursuant to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of September 3, 2014 No.788-r. "Some issues of establishing the University of Customs and Finance" by merging of two academies: the Academy of Customs Service of Ukraine and Dnepropetrovsk State Financial Academy. University of Customs and Finance is a unique university in the sphere of training and retraining of specialists of custom services, specialists of international activity, custom brokers etc. Today students and academic staff of the University are involved into international educational projects, international conferences, scientific forums, symposia, workshops and summer schools under agreements signed with foreign universities.
The University is cooperation with the World Customs Organization (WCO) and on the base of the University was created and opened the WCO Regional Training Center in 2010. The World Customs Organization considers that the University is the important element in implementation of WCO strategy in the European region as the academic and methodological center.

The main building is in Dnipro. University of Customs and Finance is in top 5 universities of Ukraine according to the national rankings. Despite being one of the youngest educational institutions, University of Customs and Finance it ranks in the national ratings of Ukraine.

Dnipro, previously called Dnipropetrovsk from 1926 until May 2016, is Ukraine's fourth-largest city, with about one million inhabitants.
